12:41AM

now i understand why jesus said what he said..

he was in his 30's.

It is a bridge between complete imaturity and adulthood.

As each moment progresses our scope changes. It's sad to say. I understand why Jesus felt pity and extreme guilt. It has less to do with scriptures and more to do with conciousness and guilt directly associated with where we are on a moral level. 1000'd of years later.....

12:00AM - A ,moment for contemplation. #1.

DEWDER...
BECAUSE EVERYONE THINKS THAT IN CAPITALS YOU'RE SHOUTING...
i've polished off many a brewsky and i can vouch for boags draught 4.7% as being a pretty good beer. I know I'm going to be slow starting off tomorrow BUT I've had a brilliant night as we make our way towards our final destination. In the far reaches I hear a v8 scream out. I hear my inner addiction and yearn scream for another beer. I have contemplated mortality and i fear due to contemplation as all we're left with is hope (i've been on a trip, not artificially chemically induced trip laterly)... and it leaves me alone.

Jesus was another 31 year old that looked around and realised that the world was full of superficial promotions. It's just the trusth. If you don't like it, get a helmet.

Current mood: i'm sad for each individual.
Current music: the sound of silence (aka literally silence)

5:13AM - Just a joke... to put a smile on your faces. :-)

A woman was at her hairdresser's getting her hair styled for a trip to Rome
with her boyfriend. She mentioned the trip to the hairdresser, who
responded, "Rome? Why would anyone want to go there? It's crowded and
dirty and full of Italians. You're crazy to go to Rome. So, how are you
getting there?"

"We're taking Continental," was the reply. "We got a great rate!"

"Continental?" exclaimed the hairdresser. "That's a terrible airline. Their
planes are old, their flight attendants are ugly, and they're always late.
So, where are you staying in Rome?"

"We'll be at this exclusive little place over on Rome's Tiber River called
Teste."

"Don't go any further." I know that place. "Everybody thinks its gonna be
something special and exclusive, but it's really a dump, the worst hotel in
the city! The rooms are small, the service is surly and they're
overpriced. So, whatcha doing when you get there?"

"We're going to go to see the Vatican and we hope to see the Pope."

"That's rich," laughed the hairdresser. "You and a million other people
trying to see him. He'll look the size of an ant. Boy, good luck on this
lousy trip of yours. You're going to need it!"

A month later, the woman again came in for a hairdo. The hairdresser asked
her about her trip to Rome. "It was wonderful," explained the woman, "not
only were we on time in one of Continental's brand new planes, but it was
overbooked and they bumped us up to first class. The food and wine were
wonderful, and I had a handsome 28-year-old steward who waited on me hand
and foot. And the hotel was great! They'd just finished a $5 million
remodeling job and now it's a jewel, the finest hotel in the city. They,
too, were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us their owner's suite at
no extra charge!"

"Well," muttered the hairdresser, "That's all well and good, but I know you
didn't get to see the Pope."

"Actually, we were quite lucky, because as we toured the Vatican, a Swiss
Guard tapped me on the shoulder and explained that the Pope likes to meet
some of the visitors. He asked if I'd be so kind as to step into his private
room and wait, the Pope would personally greet me. Sure enough, five
minutes later, the Pope walked through the door and shook my hand! I
knelt down and he spoke a few words to me."

"Oh, really! What'd he say?"

He said, "Where'd you get the shitty hairdo?"

4:24AM - Day two of being a bum.

I guess I kinda fee like a bum.. but at the same time don't. You see I'm so used to working I feel strange sitting on my ass. I don't have to get up at any particular hour, I don't have to be anywhere's at any time and right now I don't have any plans to meet anyone at any particular time. There's a whole part of a day I'm not takeing advantage of. I can see myself quite quickly becoming a somewhat hermit/recluse, sleeping during the daylight hours and prowling around my house at night. At least that's the way I used to be. I've got over 6 weeks of pay that I've kinda got at my disposal, that's without takeing into consideration the other sums I should get back from the tax man. I'm really going to find it hard to find a reason to go back to a normal daytime job after this!!! I should start hunting before I find myself short of funds. It would be nice to use all these monies just for bills and stuff.

Ahh fuck it!

Here's to hermiting.

12:41PM - ,,, and then I lost my job!!

This morning I woke.. still with this full on chest infection happening. I felt like I couldn't really face work so i called in sick. At about 11:30 or so I had a knock at the door. I ignored it because I thought that it would have nothing to do with me and that it may be a friend of my brothers. It was the manager for the store that I work at. He had come to 1) Ask where I had placed a quote I had been working on for a customer and 2) inform me that I had been "sacked". Funnily enough I didn't really stir when I heard him say it. Now that I think of my financial situation I'm left thinking of where am I going to get the next dollar to pay for the expenses I've created for myself. Slightly worried but I am currently resting on the notion that I have possibly about 1 months holdiay pay to be paid to me. With that money I hope to get my tax done which will bring in a couple of more dollars until I find another job. Timeing is everything eh!
The one thing that erks me the most is the fact that only 1 week ago the boss approached me and said that I was doing a really good job. I can't stand to find myself in these fucked up mind games so I'm looking to this as being a good thing. All I can hope for is a good reference. I'm sure that if I go quietly I may be able to get one of those. I hate it when people hold a job over your head. I was also told by the manager that on Monday, when I go in to get my pay, I could actually talk to John and possibly get my job back. I don't know if I want to stoop that low. Fuck it eh. Often they (work) play with you, holding your responsibilities over your head, like I'm supposed to bring in $40,000 worth of sales per month. Last month it was something like $30,000. I don't worry so much because there are plenty of other jobs that I do which NEED to be done in order to make the store operate properly. I had another sales person come back to me just yesterday claiming that I had excellent telephone manner ( I know, I know, who wants to be known for telephone manner) and that another business that was doing business with our business was extremely happy with the service they got over the phone.

FUCK EM.

I know that there are other jobs out there that are far more kewler and which appreciate me far more than where I am right now. Fortunatly I also have my band income which, although the bookings look quite dismal as it stands, will help me out during the next couple of months.

I'll have to go into a few job agencies and see what prospects lie out there.

Here's hopeing.

11:37PM - Coming thru with the goods?

So... been a while, I know. Then again, when I consider my audience... I'll take as much time as I like doing my diary thing, being largely a cathartic thing and all. I'm back on the recording horse. I've recorded two "ideas" over the past two nites. It's just 2 guitars and drums but it's a start. What happens most of the time when the band wants to do the original recording thing is we sit in the drummers nans (grandmothers) garage and try to forge something out of nothing. I find that to be kinda frustrating. There's this pressure on which I dislike. I like the whole music thing to flow naturally and it seems to do that most often when I don't have anyone around me. I'll record these ideas onto mini disc and present them to the band, who, may think that they're either shit or not. It's also got to work in with the singers vocals, which I don't think they will. I can't believe it's taken me so long to put something together like this. I think I'm going to have the most problems with the drummer as I suspect these things have to wear on him a bit more than anyone else. It's just a matter of fact that he takes a little longer to like somet of the songs we do.. the covers that is. I can understand that. A few years ago I found that more and more songs had to grow on me. Be damned if I know why. I find that my tastes have become a little broader. I hope my stuff is different enough for others to appreciate. I kinda like it. There are parts I can en?vis?age (thanks to dictionary.com for assuring me of the spelling for envisage!!) : " To conceive an image or a picture of, especially as a future possibility: envisaged a world at peace. To consider or regard in a certain way." were someone is screaming and other parts where an easier vocal line would be best. God I hope something comes of these ideas. Mind you I should regard it as "something just for me." Fuck it's 11:35 and I have to be AT WORK AT 8!!! We have this meeting thing on the first Wednesday of the month where we go over the products in the catalogue to check out what's coming in and so on. Fuck, I have to clean my keyboard..
Fark time for sleep..
TIll later..

11:46PM - COULD YOU BELIEVE IT!!!

Just surfing around the net as you do and I came accross this... I SWEAR I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT!!

06/09/2003 05:15 AM
"Dirty tricks" operation revealed
Britain ran a deliberate covert operation coded "Rockingham," designed to produce deceptive intelligence about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq to justify war.
Former UN chief inspector and US intelligence officer Scott Ritter has confirmed the existence of this operation.
Labor MP, Tam Dalyell, said that he would raise the matter in the Commons on Thursday. For further info click the article?s link.

Revealed: the secret cabal which spun for Blair

Investigation: By Neil Mackay

BRITAIN ran a covert 'dirty tricks' operation designed specifically to produce misleading intelligence that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction to give the UK a justifiable excuse to wage war on Iraq.
Operation Rockingham, established by the Defence Intelligence Staff within the Ministry of Defence in 1991, was set up to 'cherry-pick' intelligence proving an active Iraqi WMD programme and to ignore and quash intelligence which indicated that Saddam's stockpiles had been destroyed or wound down.

The existence of Operation Rockingham has been confirmed by Scott Ritter, the former UN chief weapons inspector, and a US military intelligence officer. He knew members of the Operation Rockingham team and described the unit as 'dangerous', but insisted they were not 'rogue agents' acting without government backing. 'This policy was coming from the very highest levels,' he added.

'Rockingham was spinning reports and emphasising reports that showed non-compliance (by Iraq with UN inspections) and quashing those which showed compliance. It was cherry-picking intelligence.'

Ritter and other intelligence sources say Operation Rockingham and MI6 were supplying skewed information to the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC) which, Tony Blair has told the Commons, was behind the intelligence dossiers that the government published to convince the parliament and the people of the necessity of war against Iraq. Sources in both the British and US intelligence community are now equating the JIC with the Office of Special Plans (OSP) in the US Pentagon. The OSP was set up by Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to gather intelligence which would prove the case for war. In a staggering attack on the OSP, former CIA officer Larry Johnson told the Sunday Herald the OSP was 'dangerous for US national security and a threat to world peace', adding that it 'lied and manipulated intelligence to further its agenda of removing Saddam'.

He added: 'It's a group of ideologues with pre-determined notions of truth and reality. They take bits of intelligence to support their agenda and ignore anything contrary. They should be eliminated.'

Johnson said that to describe Saddam as an 'imminent threat' to the West was 'laughable and idiotic'. He said many CIA officers were in 'great distress' over the way intelligence had been treated. 'We've entered the world of George Orwell,' Johnson added. 'I'm disgusted. The truth has to be told. We can't allow our leaders to use bogus information to justify war.'

Many in British intelligence believe the planned parliamentary inquiry by MPs on the Intelligence and Security Committee will pass the blame for the use of selective intelligence to the JIC, which includes senior intelligence figures .

Intelligence sources say this would be unfair as they claim the JIC was following political instructions. Blair has been under sustained criticism following allegations that intelligence on the threat from Iraq was 'sexed up' to make it more appealing to the public.

The rebel Labour MP and Father of the House, Tam Dalyell, said he would raise the Sunday Herald's investigation into Operation Rockingham in the Commons on Thursday and demand an explanation from the government about selective intelligence. Ritter has also offered to give evidence to parliament.

Both the MoD and Downing Street refused to comment on Ritter's allegations about Operation Rockingham, saying they did not make statements on intelligence matters.

British and American intelligence analysts have also come forward to dispute claims made by President Bush that two military trailers found in Iraq were bio-weapons labs.

MY GOD... TRUST THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE WORLD??!!!

8:41PM - Just some thoughts of mine..

Big ass disclaimer: The thoughts I'm reflecting on are my own.. and they are drawn together from the information derived from Newspaper and Television, they are not a shot at particular countries, more or less just the governments and politicians that make the decisions.

It kinda makes me think when I checked out the local newspapers "world events" section, and I came across some blurb about North Korea amassing large stockpiles of nuclear weapons. I stopped and pondered whether the people who were providing the "facts" were the same people who told us that Iraq had "weapons of mass destruction" ( I hate that term now.. Weapons of Mass destruction) . I haven't heard if anyone has at this point found any weapons and I also wonder if the involvement that the US is having with North Korea is potentially going to result in another mess like that of Iraq I was talking to my brother about the whole situation and we both came to the conclusion that it's all been fueled by ignorance and fear. Don't get me wrong here, I do think that Iraq was possibly better off without Saddam BUT I do think that other avenues should have been pursued instead of going out all gung ho, running into Iraq with weapons and blowing up innocent women and children. I also worry that "public opinion" is often too slanted by the media and INCREDIBLY DETATCHED from the actual consequences and reality of war. I hate to see interviews with "normal people" in the street who think that the most extreme actions should be taken to solve problems. It's all a case of "blow them up". I remember when September 11 occurred and the world was in complete shock. "How could it happen to us??" How could we have something so terrible happen on American soil? It's all different when the war occurs closer to home I'm sure. No thought is given for the poor children of Iraq who were drawn into the horrible war and dismembered and disfigured. When asked should America start war on Iraq I'm sure most of the people imagined Saddam and not the people of Iraq, yet these same people are the voters! These same people are provided with so much mis information and yet are required to make a decision based on it. I remember watching the world news one night only to see this poor Iranian boy, maybe aged 12-13 , in a hospital bed. He'd lost both his arms and was somehow awarded with a crappy TV. It makes me both laugh and sad at the same time. Here's a kid that's lived the atrocities of war (unlike you or I and the greater part of the 1st world countries) and he gets handed a TV as some form of compensation for his losses. I think of how television is largely responsible for putting jackass presidents into office and also sways and creates public opinion. The manipulative twisted words that are used to describe outcomes that don't necessarily identify with the nations identity. The propaganda that is pumped out by these huge companies. If you want to see what I mean but to a lesser degree, go to another Country and watch the Olympics. It becomes kinda vicious, the slant or spin put on sports as it fuels patriotism and pride.

I also think about how the latest thing is the "war on terrorism". There are many countries that have been battling with terrorism for the longest time, take Northern Ireland for instance. I would have thought that Ireland would have been the first place the world would focus on when it talks of terrorism, yet we shift our eyes to North Korea. I don't claim to know a lot of world events nor the history surrounding some of the conflicts that have waged for decades YET until a peaceful resolve has been found it hasn't I was watching that newish James bond movie, die another day, and I wondered whether it was the advent of the movie that spurned on the focus on North Korea. Now don't get me wrong here, I do know that the whole North/South + US thing has been going on for ages BUT I do think humorous the fact that it's in that Die another day movie and it's the latest "en vogue" political conversation piece. Alas I go off onto another tangent, another time when the US went into a foreign country and bombed them with Nuclear Weapons. Talk about screwed up. When the Japanese invaded Pearl Harbor .. well, we all know that it was an American Military Installation but when the US retaliated with the Nuclear bomb they attacked Hiroshima, a civilian city.. How fucked up is that.. Don't you think that the US would have managed to get the same point across without actually bombing a fucking city. I believe Hiroshima is still suffering from that one bomb, a war that finished how long ago! I was watching a doco on TV ( I know.. !) and it mentioned how the illnesses associated with the bombing, skipped a generation. So it's like WW2 occurred back in the 40's and kids today are being born with abnormalities stemming from that one bombing.

Just letting some steam off..
Welcome comments.. and criticisms on the accuracy of what I've said..
War sucks..

1:28AM - Another day seen through..

The first of many more.

I'm kinda tired. It's 1am sunday morning. I've been doing the whole 4 hours of sleep thing a nite for the past week, largely due to the whole "i've got the internet back on with unlimited download thing".
It's totally trippy (for want of a better word). The whole I can download whatever I want and however much I want thing.
eck.. I thought that the chewy gum I just chewed was licorice flavour. It's the blue packet of Wrigleys PK chewing gum. Interesting flavour. You will also notice in subsequent enteries that there will be less references to we.. as we is no more. que sera sera (thanks rance)..

This incidently is just an exercise in discipline or behaviour modification.. easier to post next time if it becomes a more regular occurance.

And i like to post.

till next one.

3:49AM - My god.. for the first time .. there's no one online on icq.

4:18AM - Holidays are here... a smile back on my face!!

Well, they're here alright. It's Thursday morning.. 3:52am to be exact and nearly 1/4 of my holdiays are gone.. That reminds me of the whole.. are you a 1/2 a glass empty or half a glass full kinda person. Right now, I guess I feel like the former. I'm totally tired.. I spent most of the nite trying to make something of downloaded midi files. You see, earlier on today I decided that it would be a good money spinner to organise another duo. Actually it was sparked on by a friend on icq who had been in a duo and had seen great amounts of money change hands thanks to his music ability. He was a guitarist in a cover band duo thingy called Velvet. I'm thinking I can do the same thing with my singer.. and in addition put in midi backing tracks...mainly just bass and drums.. to embelish and fill out the songs a bit. Should be good. I'll then have 1 full time job (which I hope to have changed to maybe a part time job if all goes well), 1 band, 2 duos.. The other duo isn't really THAT frequent.. but it is a bit of fun. This now leads me to the question.. what to name the duo? God knows.. we still don't have a name for a band, despite Rance's fantastic contribution to the cause. Now when anyone asks me.. what do you think we should name the band? I merely remind them of the list I printed out.. the list of band names rance came up with.. ( for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, check out previous entries in my LJ...)

What really amazes me is the fact that when I was told about Live Journal.. well, my inital thoughts were.. hmmm I'll be able to hear more about what happens to my friends in their day to day existance.. the things they may have forgotten to tell due to the fact that they had already told the whole world.. or just their closest live journal friends. Now it's a kind of .... getting off chest and maybe giving friends a deeper take into my psyche.. It could make one wish (oh to talk in 3rd person) that everyone had a LJ. A way of understanding people way beyond what they let strangers and passers by know. When you think of how much energy is spent putting up personal walls..I know that I do it.. Maybe people would understand one another better then.. Less time would be spent either maintaing the personal wall.. or for others the process of breaking it down.. Then again, I know one person at work.. I'd hate to read his life journal... it'd be full of lies.. It'd kinda defeat the purpos.. I guess I don't necessarily have to read it.. hmmmmm todays thought..
f everyone had a LJ.

Oh if everyone had a LJ.

11:21PM - What's in a name for a band?

Initially, when the idea of putting together a band name, I thought how wonderful it would be to have a little story behind the name. Whenever someone approached us and said "why did you call yourself XXXXX?" We could answer with a .. "well it happened like this... yada yada yada".. I'm thinking that life's to short to wait for inspiration and experiences to collide and generate the perfect band name. And so I've turned to others to help us out.
Our bassist came up with the name "Fear of Falling".. which I thought was pretty kewlish. Mark.. a fellow dewder, came up with "Alpha-Beta" and "duplex", not to forget "The Titanium Alloys"... Then I got talking to rance who, fortunately for me, was hit with a nasty case of verbal diorrhea, and subsequently bombarded me with name after name after name.. Here they are..

12:15AM - Another format later...

Well I'm on the other side again. I decided that I would reformat my ntfs 60gb hard drive and change it to fat 32. The whole process took about 1 1/2 hours and I'm now very glad it's done. It's one thing now that can't cause problems between my two hard drives. I'm on my last cigarrette so I'm thinking that this should be only a little post as I don't want to be too long without.. I talked to a guy at the computer store, where I purchased my HDD and he suggested that it would be the best thing to do. I don't know if it was attributed to the whole ntfs thing but the other night, when I was trying to do the multiplayer thing over the internet, I found that I could not log on to any server. I remembered words I had heard from another computer geek guy at "another computer store" (incidently that is the name of the store!!). He said that he'd encountered problems trying to get someone with a computer that was set up with ntfs into the LAN network. I wonder if, due to the fact that I'm using a lan setup.. being on adsl, this could contribute to the whole debarcle. I'll find out in due course I'm sure.

The other day, whilest showering, my GF fractured her foot!! I'll do some background here, this house is basically a house slowly falling apart. I don't know if it's attributed to being built on swamp land or what but slowly bits and pieces are falling apart. There's a gap under both front and back door of at least 1/2 inch. The plumbing totally sucks and the electrical wiring is sus. Globes have a life measured in weeks not months and one of the taps has fallen off in the shower. Hence the way we had to deal with it. I own what's known as a imitation "Leatherman". Stainless steel contraption that more or less resembles a set of pliers crossed with a swiss army knife. This tool is used every morning to turn on and off the cold tap. My gf went to grab it and it fell on her foot, creating a nice little cut. I thought that she was over reacting to the whole incident. If anything she could deal with it by applying a band aid and if necessary going to the doctor to get a stitch or two. She went to work for the day only to end up at the hospital at 2pm. She waited some 6 hours and finally found out that that little cut had a nasty fracture underneath it. So there ya go. I was the cold, incompassionate bastard who thought nothing when my gf was in pain with a fractured foot. Bear in mind that I'm thinking how the fuck can a set of pliers do such damage. It makes me think of how some 2500 americans each year die through smokeing in bed! I guess the thing is to never dismiss the possibility.

The band is comeing along nicely. We still don't have a name, probably the hardest thing to do in a band, come up with a good name. It has to be long wearing. It can't become stale or lose it's lustre after so many months. It can't be a joke that loses it's punch. So much to it all. We probably know , rock-solid, about 10 songs. We practice twice a week which shows the ambition in my fellow musos. It can be such a hard quality to find in a muso. They're not exactly known for their commitment. More like pot smokeing hippies who never got a real job. Believe me it becomes a very real job when you've played "video killed the radio star" for the 10000th time.
I babble..

Anywho..

till later.

PRICELESS!!

He's in the process of fixing a heap of pics, turns out his host got a letter from Mastercard as it seems to be an infringement on their creativity or copyright. Goodness knows what he's doing with the pics now. I also noted that there was some great links to the right of the page. Ones which are more thought provoking than anything else.. I stumbled upon one last nite that pushed or proved how fucked up the english language is, I'll just check to see if I can find the same site and drag an excerpt out of it.
Fuck it, I'll grab the whole article.. This was taken from Forbidden compunds . com

English is a messed up language.

"Let's face it -- English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat.

We take English for granted. But if we explore it's paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.

And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? One index, 2 indices?

Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend, that you comb through annals of history but not a single annal? If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?

If teachers taught, why didn't preacher praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? If you wrote a letter, perhaps you bote your tongue?

Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane. In what language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell? Park on driveways and drive on parkways?

How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and wise guy are opposites? How can overlook and oversee be opposites, while quite a lot and quite a few are alike? How can the weather be hot as hell one day and cold as hell another.

Have you noticed that we talk about certain things only when they are absent? Have you ever seen a horseful carriage or a strapful gown? Met a sung hero or experienced requited love? Have you ever run into someone who was combobulated, gruntled, ruly or peccable? And where are all those people who ARE spring chickens or who would ACTUALLY hurt a fly?

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which an alarm clock goes off by going on.

English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race (which, of course, isn't a race at all). That is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible. And why, when I wind up my watch, I start it, but when I wind up this essay, I end it."

Pretty funny eh!! I urge you to explore both sites as some of the links lead to other interesting corners of the internet.

*TIP* I'm sure that anyone reading this already knows but if you hold your mouse over the links you'll find that they'll disclose where they lead to. If you find a URL that has the word "refer" or "ccbill" you can be sure that it isn't a free site. One that is designed to make the webmaster a buck or two out of you joining it. That's how I try to find out where to and not to go.

Cheers!
Until next post.
